The planning application’s submitted, and the official objection deadline may have passed, BUT you can still object to GCCC’s overexpansion plans.

The Council confirm they may consider letters of objection submitted between now and the likely Committee hearing in January, so if you're still wishing to object to the plans, please do!

There are 3 easy methods to object:

You can write a letter of objection (always quoting planning Ref: 09/03891/P) to:

Ben Burke

Senior Planning Officer

City Development

Brunel House

St George's Road

Bristol, BS1 5UY

or email your letter to him at: development.management@bristol.gov.uk

or you can even comment through the Council's application planning page.

Note: Click on 'submit comments' then you can type your comments in, you just need to ensure you tick 'object' in the nature of submission section. You get 32,767 characters - should be enough to make your objection!

Your letter, email or uploaded comments should focus on your personal reasons why you object to the expansion plans submitted by GCCC, always quoting planning Ref: 09/03891/P.

You may choose to focus on concerns such as increase in traffic congestion, students likelihood of ignoring parking restrictions thus causing resident parking chaos, introduction of new double yellow lines in local streets, losing the right to drive down Nevil Road on a match day even if you’re a resident, noise and light pollution by increased size and use of the ground, lack of consideration of cumulative effect by other congestion causing developments in the vicinity...

Whichever method you choose we encourage you to ask the Council when the public consultation and/or planning committee meeting will be – you are entitled to a reply.

Local Councillors and MPs can liaise with you. Please note though that Councillors and MPs cannot communicate objections to the Case Planning Officer on your behalf.
